3 Reasons Why Inventory Will Make a Comeback

I’m sharing three reasons why we can expect to see an uptick in supply soon.

Where are all the homes going? Will we see more homes hit the market soon, or will this inventory shortage continue to strangle the market? Exhausted buyers and cautious sellers alike have been asking me these questions for a while, but I have some good news: Yes, more homes are the way. I’m not a fortune teller, but I don’t have to be.

“Truly, the market comes alive in spring and summer!”

Here are three solid reasons why we should expect to see an uptick in inventory soon:

1. Builders are constructing new houses at a lightning pace. Though demand has kept up with builders’ developments thus far, it’s only a matter of time before they’re able to bring more options to homebuyers. They got a late start out of the gate, but soon they’ll be producing enough homes to comfortably respond to demand.

2. Homeowners who postponed their 2020 home sale are reentering the market this year. From the sidelines, they watched the market thrive in the face of adversity during the third and fourth quarters of last year. As consumer confidence keeps rising and more Americans receive vaccinations, more of these sellers will list their homes for sale.

3. We’re entering the high-activity season for new listings. It’s that time of year where our phones start ringing off the hook. We’ve already spoken to countless individuals who are excited to begin the home-selling process. Truly, the market comes alive in spring and summer!
